Midle mouse click raises running apps list

Could you please return midle mouse click showing running apps?
I miss that kde3 feature.
I do not use tasks panel, so it could be nice to find if an app is already running by just midle click on desktop.

Yes indeed. Just middle click on desktop to see what's running or switch to desired app.

I'd like to expand this to add the window list should also be an available kwin shortcut/dbus method, and middle click could have configurable actions to make it more versatile for power users.
