Post Sat Oct 24, 2009 8:53 pm

Hi everybody !

I can't see any song in my local collection, so I erased .kde4/share/config/amarok* and .kde4/share/apps/amarok/ and started amarok with --debug.

InnoDB: The InnoDB memory heap is disabled
InnoDB: use atomic builtins.
InnoDB: The first specified data file /home/cryogen/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/mysqle/ibdata1 did not exist:
InnoDB: a new database to be created!
091024 19:54:33 InnoDB: Setting file /home/cryogen/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/mysqle/ibdata1 size to 10 MB
InnoDB: Database physically writes the file full: wait...
091024 19:54:34 InnoDB: Log file /home/cryogen/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/mysqle/ib_logfile0 did not exist: new to be created
InnoDB: Setting log file /home/cryogen/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/mysqle/ib_logfile0 size to 5 MB
InnoDB: Database physically writes the file full: wait...
091024 19:54:35 InnoDB: Log file /home/cryogen/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/mysqle/ib_logfile1 did not exist: new to be created
InnoDB: Setting log file /home/cryogen/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/mysqle/ib_logfile1 size to 5 MB
InnoDB: Database physically writes the file full: wait...
InnoDB: Doublewrite buffer not found: creating new
InnoDB: Doublewrite buffer created
InnoDB: Creating foreign key constraint system tables
InnoDB: Foreign key constraint system tables created
amarok: [ERROR!] GREPME MySQL query failed! Can't get stat of '/home/cryogen/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/mysqle/amarok' (Errcode: 0) on "Could not create amarok database"

Full log

Qt version : 4.5.3
KDE: 4.3.2
Amarok : 2.2.0
MySql: 5.0.84-r1
Gentoo
Linux Exia 2.6.31-gentoo #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Sep 13 23:54:23 GMT 2009 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4600 @ 2.40GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

I think my problem is similar to this bug : #211658 but it has not debug file attach...

The problem is that your MySQL is not suitable for Amarok. We hear this quite often from Gentoo users lately, so it might be worth talking to the maintainer.

Anyway, here's some more information:

Personally, I always use the latest available 5.1.x version. Works fine for me.

About the details, you could simply google.
