heres a new one!
compiled the latest git a few days ago and experienced a freeze after about 2
minutes every time.
So I waited a few days, cleaned out the old with "make uninstall" in src and
repulled from git
I dont want to bother you guys with non amarok related trivia, I suspect it
could be another issue with my system.
But as I'm not sure I thought I'd post the output here and see what you make of
heres the debug from amarok
and it just hangs there, no more info.
Could it be mysql related and not amarok at all?
I straced the process to see if that may shed more light on the issue,
heres the end of that:
thanks for any insight you may be able to provide.
I'm kind of addicted to GIT ... just for fun & frolics though!
so no worries if you cant be bothered to read through all that, it'll probably come out in the wash as they say ...

Which distribution do you use? Your strace looks very strange tbh, a classic backtrace with gdb would be much more helpful.
Please take this to the bug tracker and provide a backtrace when it freezes. See also http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tut ... e_with_GDB for the details.
FWIW: I can't reproduce this here at all, using KDE 4.11 on Kubuntu 13.04, Amarok v2.8.0-37-g01a4ce7
Mamarok, hanging out in the Amarok forum since August, 2007
Currently running Kubuntu Trusty 14.04, KDE 4.12.95, Amarok 2.8-git of the day

fixed it. as i suspected it wasnt code ... woops!
my uninstall wasn't complete & deleting some old scripts fixed it.
