Amarok Problems
I was wondering if anyone could help. I'm pretty new to Ubuntu and am having trouble getting Amarok to fetch CD Covers, i click the search button and nothing appears to happen.
I am running:
Ubuntu: 9.04
Amorok: 2.1
KDE: 4.3.1
I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Re: Amarok Problems
This is due to Amazon having changed their API. We now get covers from last.fm, but the new Amarok 2.2 beta 1 is to be released later this week where this is already fixed.
Else you will need to ask your distribution for a patch for the current version which is 2.1.1

@Mamarok question regarding use of last.fm (running the 8/23 2.2qit). The behavior seems a bit different when using last.fm api in that it seems that if a cover is not found there's no ability to change the cover search string as there was when using Amazon, is this gonna be changed (or has it)?
thanks,

It would be nice to have that back, but i'm not sure if there are plans to do so. There are still a few bugs with the fetching code that needs to be worked out in any case (if one job blocks, as it does for me, no more covers are auto-fetched).

Is there a reason for the shift to last.fm?
Also noted that cover manager no longer has ability to display only albums without covers - will this be re-added
And like you cover auto-fetch is not functioning

Re: Amarok Problems
The shift to last.fm has been talked about for ages, the Amazon code is a pain to work with and Last.fm has better covers. That said, the actual implementation isn't completely finished yet.

Re: Amarok Problems
is there any chance that there will be a fix for Amarok 1.4?

Re: Amarok Problems
Be lucky, that I've scrolled down to your post:

You need to apply the patch to the sources and compile A1 by yourself.

Re: Amarok Problems
i discovered the script "coverfetcher" which does the trick without compiling, but thanks anyway
