never heard of .war (had to look it up), could not find a browser that saves in th .war format format - is there one?

OpenSuse 13.1 x64, KDE 4.12.x

live and learn 8-)

I'm gonna guess it's a feature of the khtml library and not in webkit so would have to file a wish request on bugs.kde.org - obviously this is a guess. Google'ing I get the the impression this is a KDE only format (Sun has something similar and the same extension but I think they're different)

I would think saving as mhtml would be a more desirable option in that there are more browsers supporting it

Sure, konqueror has this plugin since more than 10 years, see http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/applicati ... lugin.html

This plugin is missing in Webkit, see http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/WebKit/TODO
