Grammar Checking for Words

Sun Mar 10, 2013 8:20 pm
The Words program does not currently have a built-in grammar checker. The feature plan includes the grammar checker called Link Grammar, with a “tbd” timeframe.

LanguageTool.org has an online checker, at http://www.languagetool.org/ . A Words user can copy & paste the text to be checked. The online tool supports 27 languages.

LanguageTool also has a free stand-alone application program. This does the checking locally instead of using the online service, but it requires Java. Some people do not want the regular Oracle Java installation on their system for security or other reasons. On Windows systems, an alternative is the PortableApps.com jPortable JRE. Along with the jPortable Launcher, you would open the LanguageToolGUI.jar. The jPortable software can be run from a thumb drive. But even if jPortable is placed on your hard drive, it still has security advantages over the usual Oracle installation. You have good control over which browsers or other applications “see” the jPortable JRE. Also, PortableApps.com does not try to sneak in unrelated software such as toolbars.

Hi,
I am currently working on grammar checking feature for calligra. We are using link-grammar libraries for grammar checking. http://www.link.cs.cmu.edu/link/
Grammar error underlining part is working and grammar checking is also working for now. But still it has some bugs.
Here is the link to my code https://github.com/garimajoshi/LinkGram ... orCalligra
Apart from this few files have been changed.
