KMail - Thunderbird-like folder structure?

Hi guys,

I've been using mainly thunderbird for my email stuff over the past couple years. Now and again I gave kmail a go, but it never felt quite "ready". Now I'd like to give it another go (since many of the earlier issues in kmail2 seems to be fixed by now as I read somewhere).

Now, I have several e-mail addresses (all for different purposes). Some of them use IMAP, some of them POP3 to get the emails. The IMAP accounts are no problem, kmail2 automatically puts them in their own folder structure. Perfect!
But I'm struggling to do the same thing for pop3-accounts. I tried to manually create a new folder in the folder pane, but it doesn't allow me to create a top-level folder, I can only create subfolders of "Local Folders".
I could simply create a couple subfolders for "Inbox" and so on in "Local Folders", but I really would like to keep these email addresses completely seperately (e.g. the way thunderbird is doing it).

Does anyone know if that's possible, and if it is, how?

Thanks in advance!

Create a new "Local Folders" instance (from the accounts configuration), and set them to handle the mails from POP (not sure about the latter part, since I don't use POP).

Thanks for the tip, Einar, that works fairly well...

Well, there's still one thing left: In the account settings it's no problem to manually set the inbox/outbox/.. folders, but I couldn't find anything for changing the Trash-Folder...

I came across this post here - http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.linux. ... man/209992 (It's in German) - but it simply doesnt change anything, the mails still get moved to the Trash in "Local Folders". Although I noticed, that the name of the folder that I want to be the trash changed to "trash" and the icon changed as well to the recycle bin icon. But besides the plain look of it, nothing else changes...

I checked, and while it's there for IMAP folders, it is not for POP. Please file a wishlist on bugs.kde.org. (Notice that since 4.10 has entered feature freeze, it may be a while till this wish is actually implemented).
