Akregator certificate problems

Tue Jul 16, 2013 3:41 pm
Hey,

When I start Akregator I seem to get a number (usually half a dozen) certificate warnings saying that a feeds certificate is not appropriate for a particular purpose.

I have no reason to believe that any of these sites have dodgy certificates (and I don't think I get error warnings from them when accessing them in firefox) so I'm wondering what the cause of this is and what the appropriate course of action is.

So several questions.

1) Does Akregator use the default KDE certificate store?

2) How should I check the certificates and what is causing the problems?

I'm wondering if this problem is related to this bug and whether I should file another bug report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100302

Using KDE 4.9.5 (Linux Mint 14 KDE).

Thanks!
Nick (sorry if this is in the wrong forum - wasn't really sure whether this should be part of the Kontact section)

Yes, Akgregator uses whatever the KDE applications and workspaces use with regards to certificate. It's then either a bug in the low-level components of the KDE libraries, or an issue with certificates on your system. Do you get warnings if you try to access the feeds with another, non KDE application?
