I would like to put it in the dashboard. You know as for Search and Launch 'cause when I put Homerun plasmoid it only give me the launch button and not the entire window.
Maybe this is already possible to change dashboard to homerun launcher as for the desktop.

you can set dashboard to display separate set of elements. Then you can put homerun there. Should work.

In fact no it does not work. I of course choose to display different plasmoid for dashboard but then when I clic on configure dashboard nothing append and if I put homerun plasmoid I can only see the homerun button.

Thank you for HomeRun!

For now, just one wish: to be able to see recently used or most used applications.

Hi all,

I try to install homerun on Debian sid.

This compiles fine but the plasmoid does not show up.

Has anyone managed to install homerun on debian ?

Thanks

I love Homerun! One question for the Blue Systems Team: When will the PPA be updated for Raring? >:D

I have 2 suggestions:

1. I think icons resize option would be usefull. My icons in Homerun are to big and i dont't know how to change it.

2. I don't know why, but Homerun icon in plasma panel is smaller then other launchers (when I resize plasma panel).

I like this a lot. changed the launcher icon and put it in the panel and keybound it to just the superkey as F13 and it’s nice.
I have a question though: what controls the theming/background of homerun? Does it draw the bg from some plasma theme widget, and which? thanks.

Homerun indeed uses Plasma to render itself. When used from the panel, it paints the background using the "dialog/background" Plasma theme element.

Just one question: why this is not being made with QML? Why use C++ when all the plasma desktop (and the kde desktop too) are being ported to QML? Homerun is very nice, but I think developing plasma components with C++ is a step back.

I do wonder the same about QML, but some quick Googling suggests it's not rare for people to pick C++ depending on their needs for the project. But like I said, I do wonder what benefits exist in favor of C++ versus QML for this project.

I hope the day comes soon where this launcher is integrated as a default option within the available widgets menu. It's solid!

QML provides the opportunity for separation of Ui and logic, and also provides some degree of crash resistance (assuming the underlying logic or Qt code does not crash). It also provides the capability for device specific interfaces to be easily swapped in and out as needed (or for people to customise user interfaces if they wish to).

In certain instances however, it is necessary to use C++ directly, as QML does not provide for more complicated data manipulation operations (such as those that could be performed in C++ models).
