I guess all the windows section in forum just went crazy - too many separate threads - all about bugs. How about organizing it a bit. As it is now is hard to keep tracking and most of all - will be hard to find info about new built.

Maybe there could be one thread with info about new releases so one can find it easily when it shows up.

We've got yet another build that probably fixes the offset problem once and for all. Please test!

http://www.valdyas.org/~boud/krita_x64_2.7.8.22.msi

(The other issues are still present -- too many canvas updates, painting underneath the file dialog, crash when closing dialogs with the stylus)

New build:

http://www.valdyas.org/~boud/krita_x64_2.7.8.23.msi

This should fix the remaining problems except for GPU overload due to too many update requests (on some gpu's). Please do give it a thorough test!

Never got those issues so cant say if they were fixed or not. Personally I wish OpenGL worked - I do understand your problems with fixing it, but I seriously cant go back with drivers just because of Krita... Also that little image docker that is gone now - wasnt that fixed already?

In any case - Krita is so great. Cant wait for build that will fix those details so I could use it in every days work. Again ;)

I've finally gotten to test 2.7.8.23. The only thing I've found fixed was that Krita didn't crash when confirming filters with the stylus. I can still draw under the file dialog and the right click-menu has gone back to only existing while holding the stylus button. It works properly when using the mouse. I doubt it's related to the current issues you're dealing with but I also noticed that the wonky anti-aliasing that nezumi and I complained about before still exists in when the canvas is mirrored. On the good side, the clones array tool is cool!

I'm still using Windows 8 64-bit and Intuos5.

Are there any chances for build with custom hotkey fixed? Right now they are reseted each time krita is started. This is really unworkable :'(

Just tried the latest build above with my monoprice tablet. It works fine except it doesn't take monitor mapping into account, so with a dual screen setup it will always assume you want the cursor to span both moitors instead of the set/main one that Krita is actually running in.

Hi I'm testing .23 and the stylus still works great after the .22 fix. :)
I'm not noticing major problems, although it may be unrelated but moving layers seems to be greatly expensive for the machine/GPU now (how can I measure GPU activity?). Trying to move a layer around the screen won't show a visual feedback until a few seconds go by even after dropping it, and it isn't smooth either when it does.

It's landed in git master :-).

Together with a bunch of other branches, which means regressions, but I'll make new packages. Hopefully today, if work load permits, otherwise tomorrow.

I'm all for testing and finding regressions.
As it is now boudewijn, I'm not sure if the problems I find in your .23 build are regressions or actual 2.7 bugs. How would I go about testing this? Does Krita support concurrent installations? There are several problems that I would like to report, but sorting this first would be prudent I suppose?

Right now, we know of a bunch of regressions already, and one of them is unfortunately that I broke the build on Windows... I need to fix a bunch of things before I can make a new release :-( Please feel free to report any problems you find here, and we can check whether they are already reported in bugs.kde.org.

Oof, well no problem we'll be waiting for that build anyway ;D
boudewijn wrote:Please feel free to report any problems you find here, and we can check whether they are already reported in bugs.kde.org.

Here's a list of bugs I've noticed (reminder: I'm on Win 7 x64 using OpenGL):
  • Krita starts in wrap mode by default (I do think this is not a feature?)
  • This one I explained earlier I think. The Krita window starts with very small dimensions, centered, and the "maximise" button is showing like Krita was already maximised, so the icon is the one equivalent to "restore". Both when clicking on it or when dragging the Krita window will change the button to an actual "maximise".
  • "Save to palette" doesn't show wheel brushes in the "Favorite brushes" list (as explained here), but instead it shows the complete list of available brushes. There is no way to customise the Right click brush list.
  • Using Ctrl+S to save an untitled work changes the brush icon to "dropper" after closing the dialog. (Like it wouldn't register the "key up" event of the Control key). It will revert to the default cursor if I press Control again.
  • Brush editing: there are some problems with created brushes... If I save a custom brush it will sometimes not appear in the brush list after reloading Krita.
Also the little canvas for testing the brush (and creating a brush sample icon) will stop working after a while, and will not allow me to keep drawing.
Also overwriting a brush will not save changes after reloading Krita.
I think that's all for now xD There may be more. Will keep posting if I find them.
