Hi all!

After I updated KDE from 4.1.85 to 4.1.96, Lancelot menu borders are messed up (see image below).

After compiling and installing Lancelot from svn-trunk (r909513), the problem persists.

Any light?

My guess would be that something is wrong with the cached images for the theme you're using...

I found a Lancelot issue as well in the latest KDE 4.2 in Debian. I get a regular scroll bar in the item list instead of the arrow icons that start the list to scroll when you hover over them. Playing with the settings does not seem to help.

Hi, thank you for your answers!

Where do I wipe out those cached images? I tried to delete ~/.kde4/cache-user/ content but no luck with that.

I then created a fresh user account and added a Lancelot menu to the panel. Result below.

The problem seems almost fixed, except for the 3 bottom buttons (Locke Screen, Log Out, Switch User). Any help?

@Liquen
I thought they were in ~/.kde4/cache-user/
Did you try to kill lancelot and plasma, then delete the cache-user, and then restart them?

I'm now testing also, and sometimes I get glitches too. Will investigate it tomorrow. I'm worried it is upsteam (in plasma) since painting in L wasn't changed since 1.0.

@XiniX
The scroll buttons were replaced by the scroll bars which still react to hovering (the arrows). The scroll buttons had quite a few usability issues, so for the time being they are ditched.

Your instructions to clear the cache did work. Now I have the same status as my last screenshot: outer borders are clean, but bottom buttons (as well as rectangle focus) are still messed up.

I can confirm the above on KDE Trunk.

Thanks for letting me know. Pity, I found the arrows kind-a cute, but well, worse things have happened. Let me use this occasion to compliment you on your work. For me, Lancelot is the KDE menu done right, and if it were for me it would be included by default in KDE4.

Heh, they were cute, but were over the text, you couldn't tell where in the list you are (the scroll bar handle position equivalent)...

As for the main issue of this thread, I just hope I can solve it before tagging of the final 4.2. :(

Just to give you the heads up for this one.

The bug turned up to be something in libplasma related to caching. It is now fixed thanks to notmart and aseigo in both trunk and 4.2 branch.

If you still receive corrupted images, just remove the old cache
~/.kde/cache-*/kpc/plasma*
~/.kde/cache-*/plasma*

And if you meet any of these guys here, rep them up :)

p.s. When you test this, mark the thread as solved please.

I compiled kdelibs and lancelot svn and everything is perfect now! Thanks a lot, Mr. Lancelot!
