Well, to be fair, bugzilla does have a voting feature. :P
But yes, in general the idea torrent software is better at brainstorming. |

well, like many other users, i prefer voting via a brainstorming system. It's much clearer, accessibler and faster (for us). Lots of people without knowledge on bugzilla don't know how to use it..a modern web 2.0-site (sorry ) is definitively easier

That would be really nice indeed!
I'm the author of Ideatorrent, and I'm willing to give an hand if you want to install an instance of Ideatorrent for KDE. Note that the current Ubuntu Brainstorm (http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com) is meant to be updated very soon by this updated version (http://devel.ideatorrent.org) which includes lots of nifty things, such as rationale/solution separation, possibility to require moderator approval for new ideas, much more tools for moderators, project support, and new moderator role with limited rights, for new contributors. Please note that in the future, there are plans to go to a decentralized approach. Indeed, concerning the multiple ideatorrent instances versus a single one approach, there are pros and cons. => A single Brainstorm site is better for the users, they don't have to hunt for the individual project brainstorms. But that's less interesting for projects developers, since they do not have direct control over their brainstorm, and I do not believe in a centralized approach. => A Brainstorm per project make it easier for devs to manage their ideas, but the audience reached will be much lower, and more advanced users oriented (believe me, there is a large number of people out there seeing distros as the OS itself). The Ideatorrent project will ideally reach in the future a decentralized approach, where instances would communicate between themselves (sharing ideas, votes, comments matching some given filter), and thus take the advantages of both abovementionned approachs. E.g. all KDE-related ideas posted on Ubuntu Brainstorm would go on KDE Brainstorm, and vice versa. A vote on one website would go on the other. |

wow! i'm impressed more interaction and communication between projects is always good! hope to see something like this soon!

i would love to see brainstorm.kde.org as i got very fond of the ubuntu brainstorm idea.. but.. on brainstorm.ubuntu.com there is almost everything about gnome ...many of the whishes and ideas could be simple answered with "already implemented" if it was about kde.. also it seems to be common to vote down ideas related to kde.. whatever.. just my impression.. i know.. the lack of ideas is not the problem but the lack of programming time.. but the point will be reached when a lot of the planned things are implemented and its getting more important what the default users think and want...
