Hi,
I’ve been using OpenSuse 12.1 for 7 months and like it – especially the release model as distinct from that of Kubuntu. But there is one thing I don’t really like. Yast integration with KDE controls/widgets. As far as I know, Yast2 is written in Qt4. So why is it so different from other Qt4 apps? Did I miss something? Thanks for any tips! |

You can run qtconfig and set the theme for plain Qt apps to the same you use in KDE. Then they should look exactly the same.
Greetings
I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.

Hi,
I ran qtconfig but there’s no such a option there for plain apps. |

could you describe how the "Yast integration with KDE controls/widgets" is wrong? Better yet post pics of what you have and what you expect.
Are you kdesu'ing the Yast apps or logging in as root and running them? If kdesu'ing then the appearance of Yast apps will be determined by the settings of root not as you the user. |

Sorry, I should have posted it before and mention that I meant Yast’s software management. The tabs, menus, and other elements are different from a standard Qt app. I don’t remember if it’s the case with other Yast components.

as Yast is SUSE app you might be better off asking there (and or in openSUSE)
I think all Yast QT apps are idiosyncratic possible reasons for this (my guesses): - gui was designed in 1999 - originally wasn't suppose to be desktop specific - the language the app is written in, YCP some interesting reading: http://www.softpanorama.org/Commercial_ ... yast.shtml http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/15269.html |

I did but it changes the global style which is Oxygen by default (set by KDE).
