Is .xsession-errors cumulative ?

Thu Sep 25, 2014 7:04 pm
Hi there,

is ~/.xsession-errors cumulative or is it created from scratch each time you start X?

I ask, because I was a bit shocked, I deleted my old ~/.xsession-errors and after starting KDE as normal user, ~/.xsession-errors had the size of 30K with dozens or hundreds of messages inside...

I think not many serious messages, but interesting how many applications may not run 100% smooth.

It's non-cumulative, created each time X starts.

Only 30k ... :D

It may help to disable all debug areas in kdebugdialog - which may reduce the amount of output generated.
