Not so long ago, I've been installed Solaris, but I was dissapointed only one desktop environment on it (IMHO CDE is not so good to be desktop's default environment). And so...
WHERE is KDE on Solaris??))

The instructions for manually compiling kde on solaris appear to be here: http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/KDE_on_Solaris at least for KDE4. i do not know if binary packages exist, or where to get them from. You can alternatively look at: http://solaris.kde.org/instructions.php for KDE3, however they appear to be very outdated and may not even work.

Nexenta works really well. My home server runs on their latest release 1.0.1. It's runs like a champ. The only problem is that all the packages are rather outdated.

If you talk about Solaris 10, Sun provides KDE 3.1 on the Companion CD.
I know, KDE 3.1 is very old but Solaris is a real Long Term Support for 10 years. |
