Hello,
after installing kde4.2.2 from packages on 7.2-RELEASE-amd64 i notice that kded4 is using up a lot of cpu-cycles (~20% wcpu), and never stops. A truss shows that its doing a lot of stat'ing, like stat("/usr/local/kde4/share/kde4/services/kcm_akonadi_server.desktop",{ mode=-rw-r--r-- ,inode=260397,size=1751,blksize=4096 }) = 0 (0x0) for a lot of files, repeated over and over again. How do i get around this? Best regards andrnils |

Thanks, I'll try that. But for those who want the nepomuk functionality that would not be an option. Is this a known FreeBSD issue ( works just fine on different linux'es ) or am I just missing something else? /andrnils |

It will probably be monitoring the files that make up the Sycoca and this monitoring may need optimising for FreeBSD.

Hello,
after a reboot and setting up of KDM it seems to work just fine... When starting via startx i noticed that I got a .core in my home dir to. Is this worth more investigation? /andrnils |

If the core files continue to re-appear, then this may be worth investigation for sure as it means an application is crashing either during startup or shutdown.
