Klipper

Sun Jan 17, 2010 10:09 pm
Klipper on KDE 4.3.4, FreeBSD 8.0

I have all the times a problem with Klipper: sometimes I need to "copy' two three times, sometimes doesn't works, sometimes works at first time...

Is it something wrong with my system or I am not alone ?
Thanks.

Could you specify your problem more exactly? What do you want to copy and where do you want to copy it to?

The problem is when I copy to clipboard it work or not. Sometimes I need to click "copy" two or three times that I have it in clipboard.
For example, I marked url, click copy and check in klipper: nothing. Than repeat "copy" and it is there.
It never happened before on KDE 3.

Never seen that problem. It might be something openBSD specific?

Hmmm, analogical problem I saw in my previous installation. Now this bug isn't present.
Both times - Linux openSUSE 11.2.

Maybe, isn't Klipper bug... seems I encountered with this bug without working Klipper.

Respectfully, Andriy. :)

No, it's not BSD specific. Klipper's handling of copy and paste has been unreliable for at least 6 months on my Fedora systems. Sometimes I have seen it exactly as described here. Lately copying seems a bit better, but often pasting will not work at all. Sometimes it helps to have System Activity running, highlight klipper, stop it, then restart it.

i can confirm this bad klipper behaviour on every one of the last 3 kubuntu releases... i loved klipper and now i hate it .. it is sometimes impossible to mark some text and insert it a second later by middlemousclick... that was the first feature i loved about linux and now its unusable..

i believe there is a problem while using openoffice or chromium.. the problem does not appear when using just kate...

whats wrong there?
