I have a problem which I described on FreeBSD forum (no answer) when I start using KDE 4. I never had a problem on KDE 3.

Do you have the appropriate permissions to manipulate the audio devices? Also, which version of KDE 4 are you using? Using KDE 4.4.4 or KDE Trunk is recommended.

I have:
KDE - Be Free!
Platform Version 4.4.4 (KDE 4.4.4)

This is a version which we have on FreeBSD. My problem exist from KDE 4* but on the KDE 3 I never had. I don't have a problem with Fluxbox either.
