[Kubuntu 10.10] corrupted packages

Fri Oct 22, 2010 1:48 pm
Hello,

I wanted to install GIMP from the trunk so I issued:

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get build-dep gimp

and got:

Code: Select all
E: Ignore unavailable target release 'lucid' of package 'gimp'

even though I have Maverick!

OK, the next try was:

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get build-dep gimp/maverick

and its result:

Code: Select all
Następujące pakiety mają niespełnione zależności:
 libgtk2.0-dev : Wymaga: libpango1.0-dev (>= 1.20) ale nie zostanie zainstalowany
Wymaga: libcairo2-dev (>= 1.6.4-6.1) ale nie zostanie zainstalowany
Wymaga: libxinerama-dev (>= 1:1.0.1-4.1) ale nie zostanie zainstalowany
Wymaga: libxi-dev (>= 1:1.0.1-4) ale nie zostanie zainstalowany
Wymaga: libxrandr-dev (>= 1:1.2.99) ale nie zostanie zainstalowany
Wymaga: libxcursor-dev ale nie zostanie zainstalowany
Wymaga: libxfixes-dev (>= 1:3.0.0-3) ale nie zostanie zainstalowany
Wymaga: libxcomposite-dev (>= 1:0.2.0-3) ale nie zostanie zainstalowany
Wymaga: libxdamage-dev (>= 1:1.0.1-3) ale nie zostanie zainstalowany
libpoppler-glib-dev : Wymaga: libpango1.0-dev ale nie zostanie zainstalowany
Wymaga: libcairo2-dev (>= 1.8.4) ale nie zostanie zainstalowany
 librsvg2-dev : Wymaga: libcairo2-dev (>= 1.2.0) ale nie zostanie zainstalowany

which translates to that some dependencies couldn't be satisfied.

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-dev

On the one hand it tells me that packages are corrupted but

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install -f

does nothing (it's OK).

I feel somehow that packages were damaged during update to Maverick. How can I fix the package base?

Have you ensured that your sources.list is fully updated?

Firstly thanks for the reply.
I have double-checked but could have missed something.
I'm attaching it for you to take a look at:

Seems fine. Have you tried reinstalling some of the missing dependencies?

Oh, just forgot to reply. Sorry.

Finally I re-installed my Kubuntu. I think I messed up my package base after installing KDE 4.5.1 in Kubuntu 10.4 from backports. Installation was a pain and I had to use a few times aptitude full-upgrade in a row.

But now it's OK.
Thanks for you replies! :)
