Hej all,

Since I installed Kubuntu Maverick I had various problems:
1. Using X-Swat ppa (git drivers for my intel graphics and X server) desktop effects worked fine (except for blurring, but I am aware of the driver problems since KDE 4.5) but I often saw my desktop crashing (freezing, but mouse can be moved)
2. Thus I went back to X and Intel driver from the regular ubuntu repos. Effects worked fine again, but now my gtk applications have some issues: Firefox often slides some elements and lines of text to wrong positions. Redrawing of the page to the display after scrolling rectify this up to the next glitch. The same for LibreOffice, Inkscape... Native KDE applications do not have such problems.

It would be grate, if somebody have an idea to solve this problems or at least can give some hints to get the cause of this behaviour.

Thanx in advance.

Does 2 occur if you disable Desktop Effects temporarily?

Can you please try removing ~/.gtkrc-2.0?
