RRH Registered Member Posts 137 Karma 0 OS	[Kubuntu 10.10] Unexpected crashes of X Fri Dec 31, 2010 8:03 pm Since I've started run kWin like this: Code: Select all `LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 kwin --replace` I experience unexpected crashes of X server. I paste system logs in hope someone helps me. /var/log/syslog Code: Select all `31/12/2010 20:43:10 localhost kdm[801] X server for display :0 terminated unexpectedly` Xorg.0.log http://paste.kde.org/1553/ thanks in advance!
HaakonME Registered Member Posts 18 Karma 0 OS	Re: [Kubuntu 10.10] Unexpected crashes of X Fri Jan 07, 2011 9:06 pm Similar problem here - Kubuntu 10.10. Moving mouse arrow causes random crashes of X. Very annoying when taking lecture notes. Hardware ASUS Eee 1005HA.
RRH Registered Member Posts 137 Karma 0 OS	Re: [Kubuntu 10.10] Unexpected crashes of X Fri Jan 07, 2011 9:29 pm It seems that Code: Select all `LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 kwin --replace` is not guilty. Rather it is ATI driver (I guess). I installed Radeon driver from 'X updates' ppa: 1:6.13.2-0ubuntu1~xup1 and crashes are still present. The same version of the driver is supposed to come to Kubuntu Natty so it's highly probable that upcoming Kubuntu will be affected too.
