Hello everyone!
New member here... Great forum ... ! So, here's my question : Based on your experience, which distro (of the 2 : openSUSE or Mandriva) would you recommend ? I have tried SUSE and found it a bit slow on my machine.I have tried Mandriva only on VirtualBox and it run great on the other hand. Any major advantages/disadvantages of the 2? Please consider that i am not that an experienced user (just a few months), so forum/wiki of each distro counts. Thank you. |

openSUSE is more popular than Mandriava. openSUSE is generally considered to have a very good KDE implementation. You should consider Mageia too. It's a fork of Mandriva and will soon be released.
I don't see why Mandriva would be running faster though. Maybe they disable desktop compositing by default? |

Yes, openSUSE is the popular one, and i find their forum quite nice.
Mandriva does run faster.Cant really tell why..... I may give it a try with Mageia, being a Mandriva fork. Seems promising. Thank you! |

You're welcome. The best you can do IMO is to try them both, in Virtualbox as you have done, or maybe by creating a liveUSB and booting that, and then choosing the one you like the most.
Kubuntu is also a nice KDE distro, if you haven't already you should try it out. |

Opensuse. It's always been known to have fantastic KDE integration.
