Windows 7 has a nice feature for moving Windows in a dual monitor set up. For a window in the right hand monitor, If I repeatedly hit Meta+Left, the Window will move to

  • left half of right monitor
  • right half of left monitor
  • normally occupy (i.e. not maximized) left monitor
  • left half of left monitor

I really like this as a means of moving a Window between monitors, without having to use the mouse.

Are there any similar keyboard shortcuts in KDE4?

ATM, the best I seem to be able to do is Alt+F3, Move, and then use Alt+arrow to move faster than just arrow.

You can configure shortcuts for quick tiling and one to move a window to another screen.

Hmmm., I see a Window to Next Screen, but no Window to Previous Screen.

However, given that I have 2 monitors, Window to Screen 0 = Meta+Left and Window to Screen 1 = Meta+Right do the job.

Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

In "Global Keyboard Shortcuts", its the component "KWin".

I've set the options
* Window to Screen 0 (Meta+Left)
* Window to Screen 1 (Meta+Right)

There is no such options. All options are about desktops.
Kubuntu 13.04, kde 4.10.4

Update: i think it's a translation bug.

To get a interface in English instead, try running the following in a terminal:
Code: Select all
KDE_LANG=en_US kcmshell4 keys

KDE Sysadmin
