I used the Present Windows for Alt-Tabbing. After updating to 4.9, the option seems to have disappeared. Someone on IRC directed me to this blog post: http://blog.martin-graesslin.com/blog/2 ... cher-love/ The post mentions removing the Alt-Tab functionality from Present Windows. He just removed the functionality from Present because it was too similar to the new switcher? It looks totally different than Present. Can someone confirm that the Alt-Tab functionality was removed from Present? I really want Present back...

Yes I confirm it is removed. The Grid layout had been written to replace the Alt+Tab functionality from Present Windows effect which was more like a kludge than anything else (I was young when I wrote that code...)

Can you please bring it back? I have to say it was much better than any of the options currently in KDE 4.9. All the other options are WAY too cluttered, ESPECIALLY Grid. I can't tell which pictures are part of the grid and which are the actual windows because the transparency on the grid overlay is way too clear.

I loved Present Windows Alt-Tab because I could alt-tab through an expose like interface. Plus the keyboard shortcut makes way more sense than the regular Present Windows' Ctrl-F9.

If there's one feature I request for KDE 4.9, it is this one. Present Windows Alt Tab was one of the best Alt Tab behaviors of any OS.

No,

give a look at http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Present+Windows+Clone?content=154858 which can be downloaded directly from the config dialog starting from 4.9.3 released yesterday

The clone is nice! I'm wonder if it's possible to have background under the windows just like in the grid. Without blur enabled it's hard to use, and I don't like blur actually ─ i prefer solid backgrounds.

PS
Done and uploaded to the kde-look.org
