I have several virtual desktops setup. I would like to setup my system to always open a new instance of a program if it is not running on the current desktop, even if there is an instance on another. For example, I have Geany open on Deskop 2. I switch to Desktop 3. I double click a text file in Dolphin and it opens a new instance of Geany on 3, rather than on the already running instance on 2 (what happens now). Is this possible?

with 4.9 you can implement something like that with KWin Scripting: http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tut ... /Scripting

and example which does something similar is published on my blog: http://blog.martin-graesslin.com/blog/2 ... lications/
