Hello, I'm new here, I hope I do this bug report right:
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04.1, with KDE from the repository (kde-full-5:71~pre15ubuntu12.4 ---> kde-runtime-4:4.8.5-0ubuntu0, etc), and it's great, I can't see myself ever going back to Gnome. In tweaking things, I came across the option to enable 'mouse marks', which I did. However, it doesn't seem to be working. Shift-meta (shift and windows key) doesn't let me draw with the mouse on the desktop. Do I need to restart something? Thanks! |

Hi pfudd,
welcome to KDE and thanks for using our software. The mouse mark effect is in general working - I just verified. Have a look whether your desktop effects are enabled at all and whether OpenGL is used. Unfortunately you do not yet use our latest release which would make it easier to verify. Please run in a Konsole the following command and paste the output here: qdbus org.kde.kwin /KWin loadedEffects and qdbus org.kde.kwin /KWin compositingType |
