In my home 12.10 kubuntu i have 2*3=6 desktops , so when i switching from #2 to #6 it animates two times down (#2->#4->#6).
While on my work debian+KDE it takes rather one up (#2->#6). And i like it more. How to change my home debian to accomplish this?

Moved to KWin forum.

This would require changes in the code I suspect, and the behaviour you desire would likely be considered a bug by many (as it does not represent the actual state of the virtual desktop grid). Further, the new behaviour (on the home Kubuntu system) is the latest version. The only way to get this changed would be to ask the KWin developers.

Random guess, in "kcmshell4 kwincompositing" / "all effects" / "desktop cube animation" alter the setting of "use pager layout for animation"
