I use Arch Linux as my main distribution, and as soon as KDE SC 4.10 hit the official repos, i upgraded.
But there's a problem that didn't occur on 4.9.5: Both panel Blur and Sliding Instant Messages effects aren't working. The graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 6450, 1GB PCI-E 2.1. The version of the Xserver is 1.13. The version of the AMD Catalyst driver is 9.012. (Catalyst version 13.1). I'm in x86_64 system. So here is what i've done so far: Tried deleting the files ~/.kde4/share/config/kwinrc ~/.kde4/share/config/kwinrulesrc That solved the problem temporarily, and i had panel blur with translucency working. So i shut the computer down and did a "cold boot"... (this is happening since yesterday, so i did a cold boot to test if the problem would persist.) Update: Solved by replacing the proprietary AMD/ATI driver with the open-source one. Bad news, both visual effects are again gone. Right now my panel is bright white, and the clock is barely visible. As you can see on the screenshot, visual effects are enabled. Is there any fix?

Sorry for not replying quickly. I solved the problem using the free ATI driver instead of the proprietary one. Installed xf86-video-ati and now everything is working. Other users in the Arch linux forums are also having issues. The problem seems to be Catalyst-related. Anyway, now the issue is solved. |

Here is the output of that command:
I just switched back to the proprietary driver, decided to give it a go again. |

I have exactly the same problem....
My panel is blurred but all the popups and the tooltips are not... I use an NVIDIA card (GeForce 9300M GS - with proprietary drivers) which didnt have any issues with blur in KDE 4.9... Regards, Michail |

This was fixed for me by disabling the transparent windows effect... |
