Hi, I am using the following environment under archlinux amd64:

Qt: 4.8.4
KDE Development Platform: 4.10.00
KWin: 4.10.00

I am a pidgin user, and always set the conversation window of pidgin to "rise" when a new message is received. This used to work well before kde 4.10 until today I noticed after the recent update (4.9-4.10), if the pidgin main window and conversation window are grouped on the task bar, then the conversation window is not raised upon a new message. In the past, the two windows on the task bar would be separated automatically and the conversation window will then flash, indicating a new message. I always set the focus stealing prevention level as low and did not change it during the recent update.

If I close the main pidgin window and leave the conversation window alone on the task bar, then it will flash normally after receiving a new message. So it appears the only thing affected is the "grouped" window on task bar.

Thanks a lot.

This sounds like a bug in KWin's logic here, as if it was just in Plasma then the window should still have been raised.

Does turning focus stealing prevention off completely have any impact here?
