Quite a lot people love wobbly windows in Compiz.
In KDE, we have wobbly windows in Desktop Effects, too. But, it performs much weak when comparing with Compiz's, even after had be tuned. So, please improve performance of KDE wobbly windows as Compiz ! Thank you very much! Report from: openSUSE 12.3 "Dartmouth" 3.7.10-1.16-desktop KDE4.10.5 "release 1 |

You don't have to thank all the time
Ivybridge should be fine and Mesa 9.0 not affected by the "slow shader" bug. Nevertheless, try deactivating OpenGL 2 Shaders (run "kcmshell4 kwincompositing", 3rd tab) If that makes no difference, please elaborate on "it performs much weak" - the wobble settings are the ones for maximum wobbliness - ie. wide slow swings. |

LOL
Deactivating OpenGL 2 Shaders makes no change. English is not my mother language, i'm just able to use it as a very basic expression. I'll try my best to explain the difference, hope you could undertand. 1.Wobbly windows in Kwin & Compiz are totaly two different experience, i'm unable to express that. But Compiz do really much better. 2.Maximize or minimize in Compiz, some parts of a window wobbles. Just like jelly. In kwin, the whole parts of a window wobble a bit in a fast speed. 3.When a window in Maximize, dragging titlesbar. It minimize window in KWin while Compiz wobbles around cursor area and pin the rest area. 4.Here are my wobbly parameters in KWin: Stiffness 1 Drag 97 Move factor 25 Wobbly windows in KWin is OK and acceptable, just Compiz's feel better. So i post this topic and wish KWin improves. Still wanna thank you, luebking ! For your time and help. |

s/performance/behavior/g
The unmaximization is not related to wobbling but the "Quick Maximization" (aka "Aero Snap") feature - you can deactivate it in "kcmshell4 kwinscreenedges" About the wobbling of maximized windows - the algorithm seems to depend on the ratio of window size and desktop size. I'll be frank: i don't use the effect, never have, always considered it an infantile, major annoyance You can file a bug about "uncool maximization behavior of window wobble effect", but either you do it yourself or have to wait until some interested developer passes by who shares your opinion. Given that the behavor does not largly differ from the maximization effect, it would probably reasonable to make it more fluid and less an overscaling blow up. This is (my apoligies) actually even a matter for the brainstorm - i got you wrong and understood you had performance issues, ie. wobbling would only happen at 10 frames per second or so. |

luebking, you must be a advanced user! Heard geeks usually do not like these useless effects, they focus on work. I use Windows for working, use Linux for daily life.(beacuse it's safe and cool) LOL And i reported a bug of wishlist. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323621 At last, this topic seems to be over. Thank you for your helping these days! |
