Hi all
I got an extra monitor after years of just using a laptop display I have an issue that im not sure solvable. i know you currently cant have the extra monitor have different workspaces (WS) from the laptop WS (is that still correct btw)? What im trying to do is have 2 modes: mobile and work and i want the example app "amarok" to act differently depending on the mode in mobile i have only the laptop screen and there is a rule that amarok opens and stays on WS #3 on work i want amarok to be on the 2nd screen and always there, even when i switch WS's on the main laptop scren I know you can add a "stay on all desktop" option to have a window stay on all desktops and thus it will constantly be on the 2nd screen, but that dosent work with my windows rule (for when i only have the laptop display) any ideas on how to approach this? best Z |

It's possible, but since the rules are static, you'll have to write a kwin script that treats amarok differently depending on screen amount (and alters attributes when the screen amount changes)

Yes, alter screen/stickyness by hand ;-P
Next to the example in the tutorial, there're some kwin scripts on kde-look.org |
