Window Sizes Not Saving.
I had this problem crop up a few months ago whilst using 13.04 of Kubuntu, but always thought it may correct itself on upgrading to 13.10 with a new '~/.kde' installtion. The problem is it did not. I already am aware how to 'Windows Behaviour>Windows Rules' to get windows to save conditions, but there is a background default versions that seems to be failing, and this is what I want fixed. Can someone tell me the files that are related to the inate background saving in KDE? This problem seemed to stem from when I reduced animation and decorations on 'Oxygen' decoration. Details: *Kubuntu 13.10 * 'Smart Placing' is the setting for windows positioning *Using 4.11.2 KDE (with latest patching to attempt to correct) *KDE/QT windows seem to be newly created with a stale size, but aren't updating when closing or changing their window dimensions and placing. I don't want to report a bug as I'm unaware of the cause. |

Moved to the KWin forum.
Are you able to reproduce this behaviour under a new user?

Yes. I think I've found the problem. in "~/.kde/share/config" width and heights are being repeated in configuration segments, so must be a bug. I'm manually remove the double ups but they return if you delete the whole reference to h+w. You need to leave one height and width for it to maintain the proper number. |

OP has filed a bug, but sizemanagement across client destruction is not a WM job.
He's either applied a breaking rule or it's a multiscreen issue or an issue in KMainWindow |
