I'm not completely sure this is the right subforum for this, mostly because I'm not completely sure how serious I am about making the effect myself, I'm far from a programmer, so I guess I'm kind of hoping to catch attention of someone, who'll be willing to do this. Or at least give me so pointers how to make this.
So if mods think this should be under either Brainstrom or Development subforum, you're free to move it there. Anyway, I was playing around with TWM lately and I must say I'm swayed by its simplicity. I especially like it's option to iconify programs. I know that in modern WMs and DEs this was made "obsolete" with minimizing and hovering, but still, something about having icons of "minimised" windows on your desktop makes me want this feature in KDE. So how hard would it be to "port" or rather create an effect similar to iconify in KWin? Is anyone willing to help me? Any help or just comment what so ever will be great!

Can't you just use the Task Manager plasmoid, set it to only show application icons (i.e. not names), set it to show only minimized apps and put it on the desktop?
Greetings, Sven
I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.
