that looks like a gtk+ dialog. Which application is it?

kde default window doesn't show thumbnails when I upload photos to facebook. I tested in slackware standard kde and same problem.

It's from some application that (very likely) uses GTK+ as toolkit.

Do you try to upload with your browser?
Is your Browser Firefox? Or Chromium?

This is no KDE dialog, configuring some kde rc won't have any effect and the other topic is about global preconfiguration for KDE dialogs
Firefox and chromium are gtk+ applications. It's a different toolkit and has nothing to do with KDE.

The dialog is supposed to show a preview pane as soon as a previewable file is selected - that's just how gtk+ works and i'm not aware of a config key to alter that (to eg. always show a preview pane)

Every file dilalog of the browser will look like this.

Gtk+ applications boldly ignore the current environment (where Qt applications would notice if they run under gnome or xfce and use the gtk+ dialog there) and will always use their "own" dialog.
So you'll see this dialog in firefox/chromium (latter for the moment at least, google is about to use their own toolkit with one of the next releases) but not in eg. kwrite or amarok or qupzilla or rekonq.

It's the browser, not facebook.

Okay but if I upload on other sites, the preview function is active photos. Only upload photos to facebook have this problem. It seems that some facebook function calls the wrong window.

You mean that you don't even get a preview when selecting a file?
I can hardly imagine how a webpage could impact the layout of the file dialog, but am neither using firenox, nor have a facebook account, sorry.

I do not use facebook, but my family uses and complain to me.
