I'm just curious if there's an option for binding virtual desktops to monitors.

Say, I have 4 virtual desktops and 2 monitors. The virtual desktops are arranged as 2x2. So it'd be nice to have both left virtual desktops on the left monitor and both right desktops on the right monitor. When switching virtual desktops in this setup the virtual desktop rows are switched on both monitors. So there's just an up-down movement impression.

Or for starters: just 2 virtual desktops in a row. Left to the left monitor and right to the right monitor?

Is there something like this in the KDE-universe?

The VD protocol does not support this.

inb4 awesome:
not ewmh compliant VDs, you could write a kwin script to do this, but it would only work as additional kwin feature - not in plasma or for pagers etc.

This feature is requested a lot, since it really makes sense for many kinds of workflows (I'd like it too for the record).
Maybe the spec could be changed?

I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.
