Hello,

a little problem with defining window rules in KDE 4.13.3 on Ubuntu:

What I want is once I start firefox, which comes up with several
windows, that are forced to be placed on various desktops depending on
the name of the firefox window (new, some basic tools, etc).

I succeeded creating a kwin rule that places a particular window on a
desktop (Desktop activated with forced to specific desktop). When
firefox is already running and I click on the apply button the window
is placed on the correct desktop. So far so good.

BUT: This does not work when firefox is started. Firefox windows are
placed on the current active desktop. I assume firefox sets the window
title to the specific pattern a short amount of time after it has been
created.

Does anybody have a solution for this?

Thanks -- Peter
