Hi,

is it possible to invoke a window rule set from "systemsettings -> window behavior -> window rules" using a command line option?

E.g. I'd like Okular to load normally (as if there where no specific rules set) when called from krunner or by clicking a pdf, and to follow some rule when invoked with a specific command line option, like

Code: Select all
okular -mywindowrule

Any advice is appreciated.

OS
what are you trying to achieve? Maybe there are better ways than window rules.

Yeah, you are right.

I solved the problem using --title <blabla> to add a string to the relevant windows so that I can apply the custom rule only to those windows with the correct title.

thanks

You may want to use "kstart" which operates on temporary window rules.
Depends on whether it supports what you want to do.

Controlling window rules via a client process argument is systematically impossible.
