How to troubleshoot kwin_x11 crashes

Hi all,
I'm using Fedora.
After upgrading from Fedora 21 to 22 I got the new Kde with Plasma 5.
I had a lot of problems understanding new Plasma, but I used it.
My big problem is that kwin_x11 crashes.
Sometimes during the login and sometimes immediately after.
I thought it was related with kwallet, but this is not true.
I can swap to a terminal and from the shell, the ps shows this:
# ps -ef | grep cra
root 3317 1 0 08:41 ? 00:00:00 /usr/bin/kwin_x11 --crashes 1
I kill the process and from the desktop I open a new konsole and issue the kwin_x11

All start to works well.

So, my questions are:
1. How to troubleshoot the crash (can I collect some logs and submit where?)
2. There is a way to obtain a fresh, new and completely working KDE Environment?
The second question is complex.. I know.
I would like to maintain apps configurations but I can loose the desktop.

Regards and thanks in advance

The flag means kwin crashed and auto-restarted. You should get a debug dialog (or a core dump) for the crashed instance.
In doubt you'll have to install drkonqi.

Hi,
the only way to do something is to kill the process and restart a new one.
I have already installed those packages:
kde-runtime-drkonqi-15.08.2-1.fc22.x86_64.rpm
plasma-workspace-drkonqi-5.4.3-1.fc22.x86_64.rpm

After the last update, I don't have systray working as before (no Skype and no owncloud).
Kmix did not start anymore
The function keys are no more working (Vol +/- and other keys).

The very strange thing is that all is working good in Gnome environment.
So my question is to have a check for Kde environment packages (I don't like gnome) and eventually removing and reinstalling everything.
My concern is to maintain Apps already configured.
I.E.
Okular forgot my keys configuration
kalarm lost every alarm
korganizer have a lot of personal calendar (I need only one :-)
And I don't know what else
What do you think?
Thanks

The config loss is because you KDE 4 configuration was stored in ~/.kde[4]/share/config while KF5 is in xdg compliant ~/.config/

The kwin crash problem sounds like https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=353428 ie. the kwin process is stopped.
You could gdb into it to see the backtrace then.

Do the processes actually run?

I can do that but I don't know if it's a good idea.
My first doubt is that I can have a broken KDE profile, because it derives from an upgrade (Fedora 20 with KDE 4 to Fedora 22 with KDE 5)

The processes are running, the popup are working.

There was some issues because Fedora released some bugged packages. After upgrading from the testing, some problems was gone.
Kwin still crashes, sometimes... not so frequently, but sometimes it appens.

I'm quite sure it is. (NOTICE: the *stopped* kwin_x11 process, NOT the running one, that's not a good idea unless you're on ssh)
It will allow us to say why kwin crashed.

As mentioned, the config from KDE4 should be ignored.
