Hi
I've upgraded my Fedora 21 to 23 (KDE spin). After that the switching between applications does not work any more. I've tried to reinstall Fedora 23 from fresh - but keeping my /home partition. Alt+Tab still does not work If I go into the settings for Global short cuts, I can see that they are defined (Alt+Tab and Alt+Shift+Tab). I removed the definitions and applied the changes and reapplied my original settings. It still does not work. Since I kept my /home I guess that it is something in the configuration for the user - but where do I look to get my hands on the correct configuration file? Or is there a way to get some debug information out of the system, that can lead me to where something goes wrong? |< |

try switching the visualization used in systemsettings (iirc not all worked for me), also test a new user to ensure it's not a system issue

I can't find anything virtualisation in system settings. But I have created a new user and it works in there. |< |

Hey google01103 thanks for that input. That dialogue is dimmed, so there is probably something wrong with the underlying settings file. Do you know which one to look into? |< |

run (from konsole) "kcmshell5 kwintabbox", but I really cannot imagine why that dialog should be disabled.
if you mean only that item - there's a checkbox ahead, a visual tabbox isn't mandatory for switching. |

Hi, luebking i've just shut that laptop down. But when selecting "Window Management-> Task Switcher" the dialogue is dead. The rest seems to be ok. I'll look into it tomorrow, sometime. Thanks for your input. |< |

I've finally came back to my work desk and tried the kcmshell5 command. The dialogue is dimmed. I am wondering which file(s) I can delete or edit to get my KDE to work as it used to. |< |

can you please upload a screenshot?

I've finally solved the problem by renaming the .config directory. That brought back the usual functionality. Of course I lost a lot of settings and had to spend another day reconfiguring the desktop to my needs. So I cannot at this point redo the problem, but I have all the files, so if somebody knows which file to look into it may be possible to recreate the problem by copying it over into the new .config folder. |< |

Alt-tabbing does not work anymore here either, on Archlinux and Plasma 5.5.4. I'm pretty sure it worked in 5.5.3.

In order to make my laptop work as expected I renamed the .config folder and let the KDE create a new one. Then I move a few settings from programs that takes quite long time to re-build its settings. |< |

seems a bit extreme, haven't tested this but seems deleting kwinrc and then restarting kwin_x11
