According to Martin Graeslin (https://blog.martin-graesslin.com/blog/. I cant find particular post) Intel graphics driver is quilt for the most Plasma 5 crashes and developers had to disable some features for this driver. Maybe accurate thumbnail scaling was one of these features.
This article https://userbase.kde.org/Desktop_Effects_Performance#Thumbnail_Scaling says "By default Accurate is used. On Intel hardware Accurate is never used and cannot be enabled unless the environment variable KWIN_FORCE_LANCZOS is set to 1". But it was written for KDE 4/Plasma 4. This feature worked with KDE 4/Plasma 4 on my Intel GMA 3000 with "uxa" acceleration method (if it matters). I think user may have an opportunity to take the responsibility to use some unsupported functions for particular hardware. Does anybody know how to do this? |
