hey,
i have an issue with kwin sometimes when i start an application like steam igot this notification
After this notification, the control bar is gray instead of white. Theme is the default theme breeze. And the entire mini-programs on the desktop and the control bar are frozen. In the KsysLog I copied these lines times out:
After logging off and logging back everything works |

Cheers.
It seems like you are using both the proprietary nvidia and the open nouveau drivers for your nvidia card. Try uninstalling all things nvidia, rename your /etc/X11/xorg.conf to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak and log out and back in again. I bet you a fiver that all crashes will be a thing of the past

its only using nvidia
I can disable the nouveau but I think that will nothing change |

Dang, it was too early for me
Still, why all those kernel modules? Get rid of everything nouveau in any case although I'm not sure it will help your cause. Might be an idea to sift through syslog and Xorg.0.log for useful info.

Hi,
is your problem solved? If so, what did it and can we mark this as solved? Cheers!

Hey,
no its not solved this is a **** bug, must always make a relog so it is normal again. same problem by my brother. it is the first time occurred as the notification bug with 1px width. I have reinstalled the OS still the same issue. no idea what the problem is. |

Weird but if there is nothing useful in the logs I'd try the Manjaro forum as I don't experience any probs on Debian testing.
All the best and sorry your problem did not get solved here. Alternatively install Arch. I had it for years on end until I needed a production system, not just a home computer (hence the switch to Debian testing). I weathered the storm from KDE3 to KDE4 under Arch and can only recall the "occasional" mishap

ok, now i dont get an crash anymore.
the only problem I still have is. when I start a full-screen program like a steam game, then freeze the mini applications on the second monitor on the desktop. when I close the game everything is normal again. if I then for example again play a game an hour later, everything is frozed and the clock stands at the time where it is the first time is froze. |

Why? What did you do? Without any logs there is nothing I can do, especially without my crystal ball

I reinstalled Manjaro KDE from the 17.0.3 ISO before that I had the Manjaro architect version. The has however still some bugs.
Ksyslog or other logs? |

This does indeed appear to be a Manjaro thing. Please check with them as we have no chance of recreating your problem.
All the best!

That's just: KDE Bug 353983 - Turning off compositing breaks Plasma panel rendering ... That bug has been around for >2 years... Bob |
