Hello everyone!

I searched but couldn't find an answer to this question. First let me state that I love KDE Neon and that I have abandoned Windows, and even my new Macbook Pro is getting neglected at the moment. I have installed it on my beastly workstation at home and on a Lenovo P50 laptop and Windows is now relegated to VMs (except for Star Citizen in which case I dual boot) :)

In any case, here's the issue. It is present on both my desktop and my laptop, and I'd love to get to the bottom of it. Whenever I suspend to RAM and reawaken the computer, the text underneath my desktop folders becomes graphically distorted until they are relocated on the desktop. Then they become just fine. Also, Latte-Dock shares the same exact distortion but on the entire icon. All that I have to do to fix Latte-Dock's icons is to mouse over them. Then everything is back to normal. Here is what I am looking at:

I have noticed that in Notifications, KWIN reports that "Desktop effects were restarted due to a graphics reset" after I wake up from sleep.

I first noticed this on the laptop after I switched from Nouveau to Nvidia's latest driver. On the desktop, I am running Nvidia's latest driver from the beginning and this issue has always been there.

Nvidia Driver Version: 387.34

This is not the end of the world, but as you can imagine in cheapens an otherwise fantastic experience.

I am running:

KDE Plasma version: 5.11.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.40.0
Qt Version: 5.9.2
Kernel Version: 4.10.0-40-generic
OS Type: 64-bit

Can anyone please help me get to the bottom of this?

This is even worse since the 5.13 update. Now the entire login screen is distorted on wake. Since the login change I can't find the original thread I posted on, but this has been an issue for years now on nvidia.

I'm assuming that's with Latte Dock?

Using Plasma's panel solves it
