After some years, I've just returned to KDE, and this is my first query - I hope it's not misplaced:

I've opted for Elisa to listen to music in the background as I work on my computer, so when I login, I'd like Elisa to start automatically in the background (it automatically resumes playing), i.e. minimized without getting in the way.

Can I do it with via KWin and/or how?

I've finally found an answer elsewhere. This is the startup script I use now to start Elisa minimized:
Code: Select all
#!/bin/bash
sleep 12
elisa &
sleep 2
xdotool windowminimize $(xdotool getactivewindow)
