Hi,
I want to give ksysguard a defined window size in the non-maximized state (after clicking "restore" in the titlebar).

So I have chosen application specific settings and set "Position" and "Size" to remember (see screenshot).

However after maximizing and restoring the window isn't restored to the specified settings. How do I do that?

TIA

Remember behavior applied when launching app. applying last status(when closing app)

you may try 'Force' option. But it blocks maximize action also.

I also recommend to use window setting not application setting. second one also affect to dialog window.

Under Window matching, one can use window type, checking just "Normal Window" fixes this.

However I couldn't follow your other recommondations. Forcing indeed prevents the maximizing of the windows, but thats not what I want.
