I'm using the desktop zoom feature (under Desktop effects). It has two settings I can't figure out: "Enable focus tracking" and "Follow focus". I was expecting it would move the zoomed area to a newly opened window/application or to a dialog/notification that pops up (and hopefully follow the cursor when you're typing). But enabling them doesn't seem to have any effect. What do these settings actually do?

I had a look at the code at github (kwin/effects/zoom). The zoom effect seems to make use of kaccessible (org.kde.kaccessibleapp) for focus tracking. But kaccessible is not installed and is not available in the repository. Is it deprecated and does the zoom effect need to be updated? In that case I will file a bug.

https://github.com/KDE/kaccessible shows the last changes were made about 6 years ago, you definitely should file a bug if this is a dependency for recent software.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

There is no package called kaccessible in Kubuntu 20.04, as I told you: if it is a dependency for anything recent, file a bug report.
