I have a Plasma layout with Global Menu (no Task Manager) and I use two methods for switching between windows

1. Task Switcher
2. Present Windows

Unfortunately none of these work in case of drag and drop between applications. Task Switcher is disabled during drag and dropping content onto window in Present Windows doesn't do anything either. The result is I'm not able to drag and drop content from maximized window because there is no way to activate other window while dragging. Is there anything I'm missing?
