kwin crash

Wed Nov 11, 2020 7:31 pm
Hi,

i'm on debian testing, kernel 5.9.0-1.amd64 with KDE Plasma 5.17.5, framework 5.74, Qt 5.15.1.
Since the last updates, kwin stop working at each start. I managed to change the window manager, now i use metacity, but i don't know how to find what is wrong with kwin...

in .xsession-errors:
Code: Select all
/usr/bin/kwin_x11: symbol lookup error: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libkwin.so.5: undefined symbol: _ZN12ScreenLocker7KSldApp30greeterClientConnectionChangedEv
org.kde.kf5.ksmserver: Window manager "kwin_x11" failed to launch

If you could help me investigate, i would be very happy!

edit:i tried with a brand new user profile, same problem!

Did you report this to Debian? Bugs caused by updates on distributions should be reported to the distribution first, especially with older Plasma versions.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
