Missing Global Shortcut settings

Fri Dec 24, 2021 1:31 am
Good evening,
I am running KDE on newly installed KDR Kali rolling release and upgraded last night.
I installed the Full version of the operating system on a dedicated laptop.
The issue is with making and viewing Activities with shortcut keys.
I have four Activities made and can only quick key between two of them at anytime and not necessarily the same ones each time.
I can bring all 4 up from the Activities menu and select one of the four.
I believe the issue may be I am missing any settings for Global Shortcut keys.
Any idea how to get that back, or if that is the issue?

Thanks much,
Jeff

You should be more precise on which exact Plasma version and Frameworks you are running, every distro is different.

FWIW: I can set the Activity Switching shortcuts without problems, see System Settings -> Workspace -> Shortcuts -> System Services -> Activity switching
If this is not there, then please file a bug report to your distribution first, because that could simply be a packaging error.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Sorry, I am just a simple person just out of the Hospital recovering from COVDID-19.
I had installed the OS Nov 28th just before going to the Hospital on the 6th and got out on the 21st.

What you wrote: "FWIW: I can set the Activity Switching shortcuts without problems, see System Settings -> Workspace -> Shortcuts -> System Services -> Activity switching"

I have System Settings -> Workspace -> Shortcuts ->
and Workspace -> Custom Shortcuts ->

Sorry I can't be more help.

What I mean by be more precise about your exact Plasma version: in System Settings -> System Administration -> About this System. That information is crucial when asking questions in this forum, and can be copied to clipboard for easy pasting.

In System Settings -> Workspace -> Shortcuts, you have under the Section Shortcuts a window with a list of applications and services, in the System Services section you will find "Activity switching"
