First, I should say plasma desktop under wayland now appears to be working well. Well enough for me to consider using it instead of X11. This being on OpenSUSE tumbleweed, kwin5-5.23.4, and nvidiaG05 470.86-46, with two monitors, one 4K, the other 1920x1200 (scaled 0.55). Thanks for all the hard work.
I don't know if this is worth reporting, but I keep seeing inverted parts of DBUS desktop-notifications appear in title-bars of unrelated applications, for example: In this case the notification with the blue-flag has already expired/timed-out, but as you can see an inverted portion of it appears in the libreoffice tip popup window. I think these anomalies can appear in almost any window, in the same session I had previously seen the same problem in the KDE system settings window. Getting the window title to redraw can fix the problem. I think notifications sometimes also popup in the wrong place (not at the bottom right of the screen). Maybe I'm more likely to encounter the problem because I run my own Qt python-script that raises a fair number of notifications: https://github.com/digitaltrails/jouno - a systemd-journal viewer, filter, dbus-notifications-forwarder). The problem may related to notifications that timeout, all the notifications raised by jouno are set to timeout (in 30 seconds. Perhaps I should also mention that when using jouno, KDE/Plasma generates the bulk of systemd-journal messages (which I filter to avoid excessive notifications). It would be nice if that could be fixed/toned down a bit. |
