Remember window size when closed

Tue Sep 13, 2022 9:13 am
I'm curious if there is a solution to windows of an application will remember the size/scale when it is closed so that when you open it again it will be the same as when you closed it?
I tried searching on the forum if this has already been posted but I could not find it. I did a search on Google and apparently this is a known issue but I have not found a solution yet or if this is a known bug that is currently in development to be fixed.
I use KWrite quite a bit. Every time that I open it the scale is pretty small for my preference. I resize it the window, close it and when I open it again it is small again and doesn't remember the resize I had set before I closed it. Of course, I would like this to be the same behavior for all my application windows, to remember the size from the last time I closed it.

Right click on the Window border -> More Actions -> Configure Special Windows Settings is the place you are looking for, there you can set a minimal size for a window. You can also do this per application.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Thank you. That worked.
However, I am of the opinion this should be done automatically without user intervention. Hopefully this will be fixed one day?
